JAMES FAREWELLS NISSAN ON THE STREETS OF HOMEBUSH

14 Dec 2015

James Moffat completed his third and final year with the Nissan Motorsport team on the streets of Homebush over the weekend.

Ahead of his move to the Volvo factory team in 2016, James endured a torrid Saturday with accident damage in both races before bouncing back with a steady run to 16th in Sunday's longer feature race.

"Homebush was not the ideal way I wanted to end my time with Nissan," James Moffat admitted.

"I made a couple of mistakes which didn't help things but I got hit a couple of times too at crucial moments, which didn't help the results either. It was one of those weekends, very frustrating as I went there aiming to stay out of trouble and finish with Nissan on a high."

James Moffat had another strong weekend in the 2015 V8 Supercar Championship, putting his Nissan Altima well into the top 10 in two of Phillip Island's three races.

Saturday's pair of sprint races in the penultimate round of the Championship saw James score a highly-competitive fifth before further chassis adjustments failed to reap results, James finishing 14th.

On Sunday, another strong drive saw James into the top ten with an 8th placed finish.

"Next round is my last with the team and I'll go there and do the very best I can. Hopefully my performance is good and we can have a good weekend to finish off my time with Nissan," James Moffat said.

20 Nov 2015

James Moffat had plenty of pace but little luck in New Zealand's round of the V8 Supercar Championship over the weekend.

Demonstrating field-leading pace at Pukekohe on Friday, Moff's Nissan Altima proved better suited to the hard tyres than the softs in qualifying, though tenacious driving saw James finish just outside the top 10 in both Saturday races.

On Sunday, after qualifying an impressive 7th, James made a blinder of a start but got caught up in the first lap skirmish, the resultant damage subsequently delaying him in the pits.
