James Moffat put himself firmly on the V8 Supercar landscape with a storming performance in Saturday's leg of the two-race Gold Coast 600.
After Qualifying for his first-ever Top Ten Shootout for Saturday's race, he then led his first-ever V8 Supercar Championship race for almost 30 laps ... and doing so convincingly, before then turning in a storming drive back from 11th place after a pitstop to fourth by the finish.
Sunday's race was less successful, the #18 Jim Beam Falcon hobbled by brake problems from the very start, losing many laps effecting repairs, before rear axle problems put them out.READ MORE

Late race gearbox failure ended a storming run by James Moffat in the 2011 Bathurst 1000.
Moffat and co-driver Matt Haliday ran strongly all day, starting out of 17th, to climb into the top ten before the 100 lap mark. But just as it seemed the #18 Jim Beam Racing Falcon was poised to record an impressive top ten finish, the gearbox failed, putting them out of the race.
