James Moffat is thrilled to be teaming with Ford star Chaz Mostert as they embark on the three biggest races of the 2018 Supercar season later this year.

Moffat has been paired with the defending Pirtek Enduro Cup winner as part of Tickford Racing’s new look squad – presenting a dynamic duo to tackle the Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600.

It’s a dream scenario for Moffat, who now has his best shot yet at winning the event he craves more than any other – October’s Mount Panorama classic.

“I won’t lie, Bathurst is the one race I want more than any other – if we could win the 1000 I’d be the happiest man in the land!” Moffat said.

“I’ve been able to finish second there before and that was something, but I desperately want to go one step higher on that podium.”

“With Chaz I think we complement each other perfectly, the car will be one of the best on the grid at all three enduros, and I’m really confident we can have some great results.”

Moffat replaces Steve Owen in the Supercheap Auto #55 Ford Falcon to partner Mostert. It presents a hectic schedule for Moffat – who will share his Supercar duties with his Porsche Carrera Cup commitments at Bathurst and the Gold Coast.

“I think the Carrera Cup running will help me across those weekends, and just boosts our entire campaign in both categories,” Moffat said.

“It will keep me super sharp and hopefully it will help both Chaz and myself in the big races.”

“This is what it’s all about – we have a huge opportunity to win some big races, I seriously can’t wait!”

The opening Pirtek Endurance race of the year is the Sandown 500 in September, before October’s Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600.

Moffat’s next race weekend is at Darwin’s Hidden Valley with Round 4 of the Porsche Wilson Security Carrera Cup Australia Championship in June.
